Green Bay Packers Turn Down Their Right To Punish One Player

The Green Bay Packers are one of the more sought after franchises to play for.  In fact, Randall Cobb made it clear that it was “night and day” between how the Houston Texans ran their team and the Green Bay Packers.  They have been a model of consistency for decades.

That includes how they treat their own players, and today they once again decided do right by one of their star players.

The Green Bay Packers Do Right By One Of Their Star Players

According to Tom Silverstein of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

#Packers do not have to fine QB Jordan Love $50,000 because he reported to camp, two sources said.

The NFL requires teams to fine players who hold out, but since Love is with the team it’s up to the Packers to decide. They aren’t going to fine him.

Love’s agents informed the team on Saturday that he wouldn’t be practicing until the new deal was agreed on.  Both sides were well aware of what the situation was going into Monday (the first day of training camp).

Obviously, this decision speaks volumes about the level of communication between the two sides and how close they are to a new deal.  Additionally, many analysts believe the massive Kenny Clark extension wouldn’t have been possible if they didn’t already know the parameters of the Jordan Love deal.

Green Bay continues to treat their players the right way.
