The Green Bay Packers are just under 24 hours away from kicking off their huge Week 14 matchup on the road against the Detroit Lions.
In this week’s game, the Packers will be looking to make a massive statement. A win over Detroit on the road would signal that Green Bay is indeed a Super Bowl contention. They would also make a statement that the NFC North division race has not been decided just yet.
Unfortunately, the Green Bay Packers are going to have to find a way to win this game without three huge key players.
Green Bay Packers Will Be Without Three Huge Players Against Lions
As shared by Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, the Packers will be without cornerback Jaire Alexander, wide receiver Romeo Doubs, and linebacker Edgerrin Cooper.
Each player has played a large role for Green Bay throughout the 2024 season. All three of them will be a major loss for the Packers.
That being said, Detroit is banged up as well. There are no excuses for Green Bay from these injuries.
If the Packers want to knock off the Lions, there are a few main keys that they will need to focus on.
First and foremost, Green Bay has to find a way to put pressure on Jared Goff. Should they be able to force him to make quick decisions and throws, they could capitalize on any mistakes he makes and force turnovers. Recording sacks will also be a major key.
Secondly, Jordan Love has to take care of the football. The Green Bay Packers have to make the most out of each and every one of their offensive possessions.
Finally, the Packers have to score touchdowns instead of field goals in the red zone. They have started to seemingly fix that issue over the last couple of weeks, but they need to prove it again this week.
All of that being said, this is going to be a hard-fought game from both teams. They are rivals and a lot is riding on this game.
Hopefully, the Green Bay Packers come prepared and are able to walk out of Detroit with a win.
