Haason Reddick for Bryce Huff? Jets and Eagles Could Be In Line For Deadline Deal

Both the New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles made changes to their edge rushing depth during the 2024 offseason. Neither big move has worked out to this point for either team.

Haason Reddick for Bryce Huff? Jets and Eagles Could Be In Line For Deadline Deal

Perhaps it is time to call a mulligan?

Philadelphia signed 26-year-old Bryce Huff to a three-year contract that put the former undrafted free agent in a defense he was unfamiliar with going into. Haason Reddick, meanwhile, joined a Jets roster via trade while hoping to get the kind of long-term deal he was searching for.

Through three weeks of the 2024 season, Huff has yet to record a single full tackle on his own, while Reddick has not shown up to the facility in New York.

Both teams have seemingly made deals this year for players that simply haven't worked out for a number of reasons. Perhaps trading Reddick back to Philadelphia, and Huff back to New York (with the conditional third-round pick going back) might be enough to entice both teams to correct their mistake.

At the very least they know neither player can continue to struggle like they have had.

Huff is really playing in a defensive system that doesn't ask him to do what made him successful in New York. In that regard, his playing out of position should be enough to push the Eagles to a deal.

The fact that Reddick is even open to returning to Philadelphia according to Rich Cimini might be all that the Jets need on their end as well.
