Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons has the entire football world talking on Friday after he took to Twitter and announced that he has requested a trade from the Cowboys. This, of course, caused a lot of Detroit Lions fans to want their team to trade for Parsons.
It also resurfaced a video from December where Parsons' dad, Terrence Parsons, shared that he is a fan of that idea. On the Life in the Stands podcast , he was asked where he would like to see his son traded to, and he named three teams: the Chiefs, Steelers, and Lions. He even mentioned how his son and Aidan Hutchinson together would be like cheating.
Micah Parsons’ dad, Terrence Parsons, had the Detroit Lions as a top 3 destination for Micah if the Dallas Cowboys were to trade him
“Him and Hutchinson in Detroit would be like cheating.”
How would YOU feel if the Lions traded for Micah? 🤔

There is no doubt that this would be the most fun trade that could ever happen in the NFL right now. It would make the Lions' defense unstoppable, and they would move to the front of the line for a Super Bowl. Could you imagine? Well, that's all you can do, really. In the words of the legendary Muhammad Ali, "The onliest thing you can do is wonder and imagine."
Never say never, but you can almost say never on this one. Parsons is looking to become the highest-paid edge rusher in NFL history, and he's going to get it. The Lions are currently looking to make Aidan Hutchinson what will probably wind up being the second-highest-paid edge rusher in NFL history.
Can the Lions do this? Yes, but that is all they can do. This move changes the direction of the team for years to come, and maybe you get a Super Bowl out of it, but you mortgage the future by sending away multiple first-round draft picks and probably some extra draft assets, and then you're all but guaranteed to lose Jameson Williams, Brian Branch. Jahmyr Gibbs, Sam LaPorta, and Jack Campbell, because you're not going to be able to pay them the big money they want. Maybe you get one of them on a big deal, but not all of them.
It's an awesome idea on Madden if you turn off the cap, and I totally recommend everyone do that to experience what this would be like, but that's very likely to be the on;y way you'll ever see it. Gun to my head, I bet the Cowboys cave and pay up.
