Houston Texans are set to host an athletic playmaker on top-30 visit that would provide QB C.J. Stroud with another weapon

We are less than three weeks away from the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Houston Texans have seven picks, including four in the top 100. That will give them the opportunity to select multiple players who can make an instant impact. Until then, Houston is meeting with as many prospects as possible.

Elijah Arroyo NFL Draft 2025: Scouting Report for Miami TE

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Texans will host Miami Hurricanes tight end Elijah Arroyo on a top-30 visit.

What is a top-30 visit?

A top-30 visit denotes one of the 30 prospect visits allowed for teams during the pre-draft period. The Texans host prospects varying from potential first-round selections to those who go undrafted, providing them a glimpse into NFL life in Houston. Although no on-field workouts will occur, teams can utilize this opportunity to conduct meetings with coaching staff for film analysis, perform physical exams with team doctors, tour the facilities, and more.

How does Arroyo fit with the Texans?

Our A to Z Sports Mock Draft Database has Arroyo being selected between No. 51-119, meaning Houston could potentially draft him with their second or one of their two third-round picks.

Arroyo ranked first among all TEs during the NFL Scouting Combine in athleticism score, and is a matchup nightmare at 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds. He battled through injuries in 2022 and 2023, but put it all together in 2024 with an impressive 16.9 yards per catch average and seven touchdowns.

Arroyo needs a little more development as a blocker, but is ready to go as a pass catcher. Starter Dalton Schultz has been solid for the Texans over the last two years, but could benefit being in a rotation with another TE who has the upside that Arroyo has. Houston could move on from Schultz after the 2025, and Arroyo could naturally step up as his replacement for much cheaper without sacrificing production.
