How Jax Taylor Is Moving Forward After Brittany Cartwright’s Divorce Filing

Brittany Cartwright recently filed for divorce from Jax Taylor. During Season 1 of The Valley, their marriage was ridiculously rocky, so once their cameras went down, these two had a lot of things to consider. When the dust settled, Brittany found herself living in an Airbnb, while Jax found himself seeking answers and respite within a mental health facility. Once Jax emerged from his 30-day inpatient treatment, he took to his podcast to touch on his past, noting that moving forward is all he now wants.

And yes, this podcast is the same one that Jax still shares with his soon-to-be ex, Brittany. For now, these two will continue to pass the reigns off to each other. This plan will allow each to keep their one-week on, one-week off schedules. In time, however, Jax hopes that he and Brittany can return to their podcast-hosting duties as one.

Jax Taylor moved out of his house with Brittany Cartwright

As for their podcast, When Reality Hits, Jax must have custody this week. In their most recent drop, Jax answered several pressing questions. To start, yes, Jax has moved out of his shared farmhouse with Brittany. Jax now resides near Tom Schwartz, his former Vanderpump Rules costar.

What could go wrong? But also, does anyone else remember that old sitcom called My Two Dads? Can you picture Tom and Jax tag-teaming to raise Cruz Cauchi? Hello, storylines (or therapy).

“About two weeks ago, I got myself a townhouse,” Jax began. However, “I do not live with Tom Schwartz. He has a townhouse next to mine, but they are completely separate,” Jax explained.

As for Jax shockingly taking the L and moving out, consider me pleasantly shocked. He realizes that Brittany has already stepped up to the plate with her various moves across LA, courtesy of Airbnbs. While Brittany has been constantly on the move, this also means their son Cruz has as well, and as Jax is finally realizing, this sucks.

Jax no longer wanted Cruz “bouncing around to all these places.” These rentals were not “his house,” “his pool,” or “his bedroom,” Jax noted. Therefore, Jax began making his exit plans while he was receiving treatment to help protect his mental health. In his searches, he found “a townhouse” that was “beautiful, brand new, very secure, updated, remodeled, [and] super safe for Cruz,” he revealed.

“And yes, I know I live next to Tom Schwartz, but he is my best friend at the end of the day,” he further stressed. Jax is thankful for this, citing, “If I need help with something, if I need help with Cruz, he is right there.” Jax is now “happy,” settling into his new home of three weeks.

Therapy remains an ongoing aspect of Jax Taylor’s life

After Jax exited treatment, he took to his socials, detailing that he had just been diagnosed with two heavy-hitters, Bipolar Disorder and PTSD. With these diagnoses at play, Jax explained on his podcast that he is thankfully keeping his two therapists nearby. “I’m seeing a life coach,” Jax began, noting that this coach is named Scott, and Scott has already appeared on his podcast. In addition, Jax is also still “talking to my therapist” from “the facility,” Tracy, who is just an “amazing person.”

But you know what’s better than two therapists? Three. Therefore, Jax is currently on the hunt for his number three helper in the group, as he is “getting addicted to therapy.” In his eyes, therapy “sets” him up for success.

In the past, Jax courted a therapist or two, including a Reiki master. But one of these therapists, an unnamed female, broke her client’s confidentiality pact, making Jax a hater of all things help-related. “This therapist who I was seeing, who I was letting my guard down, who I was being very vulnerable to, was sitting at a bar in Hollywood,” publically spilling his private tea, Jax revealed. Kristen Doute is the one who notified Jax of this, and following this, Jax said goodbye to therapy for eight years.

This gross showing gave Jax a “little PTSD.” Thankfully, his new counselors have since changed his mindset. Jax is now a fan of therapy. He plans to keep his sessions intact for a long time.

Jax Taylor hopes to become an advocate for others with bipolar disorder

While Jax was in the facility, he knew he might “be diagnosed with something.” He also knew that he would have to undergo blood draws, examinations from “multiple doctors,” and trial runs with new medications. While this scared him, it also made him excited. Jax was ready to learn what his deal was.

When he entered, Jax explained that he “went to the doctor there” and said, “Listen, I think I’m depressed. I’m on Lexapro. I’ve been on it for six weeks. I don’t feel any different.”

Say hello to his official diagnosis, which arrived shortly after. While Jax will not disclose which medication he is now taking, he did answer a common ask, stating that it is not “lithium.” As for his doctor’s findings, Jax is “happy that I’m being diagnosed with bipolar.” Moving forward, Jax wants “to be an advocate for” this disorder.

Jax enjoys talking about his findings and his diagnosis. Moving forward in his life, sans Brittany, Jax wants to research his diagnosis, as it runs in his family. He did not disclose who else in his family shares his Bipolar confirmation, however.

Now that Jax knows what roads lie ahead, he is “not scared.” Instead, he is “excited.” He knows what is wrong and what he needs to do. No matter what, Jax plans on moving forward, not only for himself but also for his son and his soon-to-be ex-wife, Brittany.

We’ll see his progress shortly (hopefully) on The Valley Season 2.
