After a miserable start, the Atlanta Braves' season has not taken off since the return of their superstar Ronald Acuña Jr. They entered Thursday in fourth place in the National League East. MLB Analyst Chris Rose believes Sale could headline the market of starting pitchers in late July.

Sale was riddled with injuries with the Boston Red Sox, but after an outstanding season with the Braves last year, his career has been set back on track, and with a 2.79 ERA and 107 strikeouts is likely to be called about if the Braves are unable to correct course .

Shelton proposed the Yankees send two top-10 prospects to the Braves in return for Sale. The Yankees would part ways with outfielder Spencer Jones and left-handed pitcher Brock Selvidge. If Sale is on the market, plenty of teams that are shopping for pitching will be calling for him. That reality, combined with a team option to keep Sale next season as well, will likely drive the price up.

The Yankees are hungry for another World Series championship, and after falling short in the Fall Classic last season, they could find themselves more aggressive in the trade market than normal this season.
