The entire sporting fraternity is a fan of the iconic Serena Williams and Venus Williams sisters duo. Serena a 23 time singles Grand Slam Champion scaled heights known to only a few and Venus a 7 time singles Grand Slam champion carved her own legacy.

Venus heaps praise for Sister Serena

Venus at the age of 45 has made yet another comeback on the tour in the Washington Open doubles category. On the eve of the event in her pre-tournament press conference she was asked about her sister Serena who herself is 43 years old. ” I am her biggest fan and I never wanted her to retire. I knew she was retiring and it took me time to come to terms with it. I was like why?”, said Venus with a giggle.

Venus continued, “I understood why.” Venus mentioned how she was not ready to accept her sister Serena saying goodbye to the sport at the 2022 US Open. However, she also said that she understood the decision eventually and came to terms with it. When asked about the viral video of Serena hitting at a tennis court recently Venus heaped praise on her sister.

“She could take six months off and she still clocks it clean and you can’t teach that kind of talent. She is so good. We always hit the ball and do a lot of hitting because that is great cardio.” Fans would love to see another glimpse of Serena and Venus on the court together. As of now Venus has paired up with Hailey Baptiste for the women’s doubles draw. Fans would hope for the duo to have a great run and for Venus to lift yet another women’s doubles title to add to her total of 22 titles including 13 Grand Slams.
