I Have A Bad Feeling One Walking Dead Community Is About To Be Destroyed

Throughout season 2 of The Walking Dead: Dead City, several new communities have shown up and added plenty of drama to the show, but I have a bad feeling one of the newest groups is already in serious danger. The spinoff's first season already highlighted that Manhattan had several unique settlements, with the Dama and the Croat's Burazi being by far the most powerful, but season 2 has continued to expand on this. Alongside the New Babylon Federation's Walking Dead introduction, Bruegel and Christos' factions have had the spotlight placed on them, with the Bricks also getting some development.

However, while all of these groups could face problems towards the end of season 2 or potentially in a third season, it is one of the show's newest communities that I'm the most worried about. Whereas the Dama and Bruegel's settlements seem heavily fortified and full of soldiersThe Walking Dead's Central Park group is far more exposed, especially because of their distinct way of life. They see death as a new beginning that shouldn't be feared, and with New Babylon temporarily taking refuge in the community, I'm not confident the faction will be around for much longer.

I Have A Bad Feeling About The Walking Dead's Central Park Group

Narvaez Looks Certain To Turn On The Group While Maggie & Perlie Are Away

Despite Dead City's Central Park community being extremely kind and hospitable, I have a bad feeling they may get wiped out by New Babylon. While Perlie holds the most authority out of the New Babylon members who made it to Manhattan, his mission with Maggie and Hershel left Major Narvaez in charge, who is far less merciful. She had already alluded to the idea of using force to take over the Central Park group - a method New Babylon had used previously to make other communities join the Federation - but Perlie shut the idea down as the commanding officer.

Unfortunately, with Perlie leaving Narvaez unsupervised, things could take a drastic turn. The Central Park group's leader, Roksana, has already declined any invitations to join the Federation, but she probably won't be given a choice now that Perlie is gone. Instead, Narvaez will presumably kill or imprison anyone resisting the cause, which could lead to the entire settlement being destroyed, or at least leave only a few survivors. The residents have proven to be peaceful yet stubborn, and they would likely sacrifice their lives before they signed away their rights to New Babylon.

Therefore, I find it hard to envision a future where Narvaez simply lets Roksana and her followers live, and the community doesn't seem well-equipped to fight back. This means, alongside having to worry about Hershel and the Dama's Dead City alliance, Perlie and Maggie could be dealing with a power-hungry Narvaez, making their time in Manhattan even more difficult.

Losing The Walking Dead's Fascinating Central Park Group Would Be A Shame

The Group Is One Of Manhattan's Only Peaceful Settlements In The Walking Dead

While the Central Park group isn't crucial to Dead City season 2's plot, they would still be a big loss. Out of all the show's newest factions, they are the only ones that seem genuinely good and simply want peace, making the idea of them being killed off even more tragic. In a city full of threats, Maggie, Hershel, Ginny, and Perlie having some allies feels like a necessity, yet the community may only last a few episodes. Additionally, their unorthodox way of living makes the Central Park group the perfect replacement for TWD's junkyard settlement, which was equally unique.

Characters like Roksana feel like they still have more to offer, and the treacherous location also makes it the sort of safe haven that other groups surely won't try to approach. Therefore, if Narvaez does decide to destroy the community in Dead City season 2's upcoming episodes, it would be a huge blow not only to the central characters but also to the audience. While there is still a chance Maggie, Perlie, and Hershel will return in time to stop New Babylon, I'm convinced the Central Park community is living on borrowed time, and I doubt they'll survive much longer.
