'I'll pay the fine' - CeeDee Lamb is guaranteeing the NFL some money after showing off a new celebration with George Pickens

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was fined three separate times during the 2024 NFL season. He's essentially guaranteeing the NFL will do it again in 2025.

'I'll pay the fine' - CeeDee Lamb is guaranteeing the NFL some money after showing off a new celebration with George Pickens

After taking a screen pass all the way for a touchdown during the Cowboys' second practice of training camp, Lamb and George Pickens met in the endzone to show off a celebration they clearly had already planned.

It was a handshake sequence that ended in the two of them imitating guns with their hands and then acting as if they lobbed hand grenades.

I'm not knocking Lamb when I say this—there's a long list of NFL players that aren't happy with how the league handles celebrations and I totally get it—but evidence does tell us he'll be fined if he uses the celebration.

Last season, the NFL fined Lamb $14,069 for what the league labeled a "violent gesture" after he pointed forward and pretended to shoot a gun after gaining a first down. The league fined multiple players for similar reasons, particularly late in the season.

Adding mock hand grenades into the equation might not be what will deter the NFL's efforts. However, that won't stop Lamb, who told reporters Wednesday he would do it during the regular season.

"I'll pay the fine," Lamb said when asked if he'd split the fine with Pickens if and when it happened. "But it shouldn't be a fine, but Lord knows they're going to give to us. Myself, personally, so we'll see."

Lamb added he didn't expect to be fined. Well, the NFL didn't change its policies so the Cowboys wide receiver might have another thing coming.

What is for certain is he'll get the opportunity to pull off the celebration if he wants to. Lamb was able to get into the endzone six times and that was while missing training camp and losing Dak Prescott for nine games. The year before that, CeeDee scored 12 receiving touchdowns and two more through the ground.

With him getting a full offseason of work, expect the numbers to follow this season.
