Bella Ramsey surprised audiences with her stoic and no-nonsense portrayal of Lyanna Mormont in Game of Thrones. As the fierce Lady of Bear Island, she won the respect of people older than her with her impressive leadership skills and the way she handled herself. Audiences continued to applaud her performance as the show went on.

The actress continued playing the character till the final season of the show. In addition to starring in the show, Ramsey is also a huge fan of the show and has her own favorites among the great ensemble. The actress was interviewed by The Cut and when asked about her favorite characters, she unexpectedly answered John Bradley’s Samwell Tarly.

The actress revealed that she is a huge fan of the seemingly normal character that has no outward skills or talents. Ramsey stated that while Sam is an odd character among the more powerful and intense characters in Game of Thrones, she relates a lot with the character’s reserved and quiet nature. She said,

I like Samwell Tarly. I really, really like him. I think he’s kind of the odd one out in the Game of Thrones world because he’s more quiet and reserved. I relate to him on one level as well.

As Ramsey points out, Sam is not the kind of character one expects to form a connection with instantly. However the character’s wit and intelligence become a very important tool when outsmarting the White Walkers (even killing one) even if he has no fighting skills. He is also a very loyal friend to Jon Snow, and thus, Sam becomes a very lovable and relatable character in the show.

Craig Mazin and his team are currently hard at work in the production of season 2 of The Last of Us. The first season spawned 9 episodes and told a complete story of the first game. The second game is a far larger story with many intricate arcs and time jumps. In an interview with Deadline, the creator revealed that there will be a definite breakpoint between seasons 2 and 3 with the story they are trying to tell.

Mazin further stated that they are also trying to delve into some interesting new pathways with the characters and he does not believe seasons 2 and 3 will be enough for that. If audiences respond highly to these seasons, they will definitely veer in that direction with more seasons. He said.

We don’t think that we’re going to be able to tell the story even within two seasons [2 and 3] because we’re taking our time and go down interesting pathways which we did a little bit in Season 1 too. We feel like it’s almost assuredly going to be the case that — as long as people keep watching and we can keep making more television — Season 3 will be significantly larger. And indeed, the story may require Season 4.

Season 2 of The Last of Us will see the return of Bella Ramsey, Pedro Pascal, Gabriel Luna, and Rutina Wesley from the first season. New additions to the show include Kaitlyn Dever, Isabella Merced, Young Mazino, Catherine O’Hara, Jeffrey Wright, and many others. The second season will premiere on Max sometime in 2025.
