As recently as last season, the thought of Andy Pages representing the Los Angeles Dodgers at an MLB All-Star game felt inconceivable.
Even hearing Pages' name mentioned in the same breath as the likes of Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman and Teoscar Hernández felt highly unlikely – and yet, that's exactly the situation in which the 24-year-old outfielder finds himself approximately halfway through his second Major League season.
Pages has quietly put together an impressive sophomore season despite a May slump, turning the corner in June to elevate his season slash line to .292/.330/.512. He has also surpassed last year's season totals in home runs (16) and RBI (52) with just 75 games played in 2025.
The top six outfielders advance in the National League All-Star balloting. According to the ballots shared by USA Today's Bob Nightengale on Monday, Pages is on the outside looking in, ranking seventh among all NL outfielders. On Tuesday, however, his chances of making the Midsummer Classic roster got exponentially better.
Corbin Carroll injury just paved the way for Dodgers slugger Andy Pages to make All-Star Game
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll – who hadn't played since taking a fastball to the left wrist on June 18 – was officially placed on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday with a chip fracture in his wrist.
While unfortunate for Carroll and the Diamondbacks, this injury could very well pave the way for Pages to earn his first career MLB All-Star nod. Carroll ranks just ahead of Pages on the NL All-Star balloting at No. 6, making Pages the obvious next man up.
Aside from Carroll, the five outfielders ahead of Pages in the balloting include Pete Crow-Armstrong (Chicago Cubs), Hernández, Kyle Tucker (Cubs), Ronald Acuña Jr. (Atlanta Braves) and Juan Soto (New York Mets). Hernández is currently on track to be a starter in the All-Star Game, as are fellow Dodgers teammates Freeman (first base), Ohtani (designated hitter) and Will Smith (catcher).
The first phase of the All-Star voting ends Thursday at 9 a.m. PT, and the 2025 MLB All-Star Game is on July 15 at 5 p.m. PT at Truist Park in Atlanta.
