Is Kristaps Porzingis nearing a return for the Boston Celtics?

When will injured star Boston Celtics big man Kristaps Porzingis return to the court this season? After the Latvian center hurt his foot for the second time in the 2024 NBA Playoffs, it ended his season for the Celtics, who managed to go on and win the 2024 NBA Championship against the Dallas Mavericks without him on the court.

But the rest of the league has evolved and learned how to better counter what the Celtics do to win games, so a return of the 7-footer will greatly improve Boston's roster. The initial prognosis for Porzingis' return had him getting back to the team in late Nov. on through to the end of the calendar year, and we are just about at the earliest part of that range at the same time KP's presence around the team has become more visible.

Most recently, the Celtics champ was seen warming up and even dunking the ball ahead of Boston's recent blowout of the Brooklyn Nets. "KP is lurking," said NBC Sports Boston's Chris Forsberg (via NBC 10's Darren Hartwell) on the subsequent "Postgame Live" show. "I've been saying this -- what he's doing in warmups is very similar to what we saw during the playoffs, maybe even a step beyond that, when he got in good enough shape to get out there against Dallas for a game."

"It's easy to forget, as good as the Celtics have been, they're getting back this 7-(foot)-2 guy who makes them completely different," recalled Forsberg.

"So, when I saw him out there tonight, getting loose, smiling as always, dunking it on his way off the court, it's a good sign that ... good things are coming."
