It's only OTAs but the Eagles can already laugh off the Jaxson Dart hype

Bradley Cooper's reaction says it all. While the Philadelphia Eagles are gearing up to defend their Super Bowl championship, a division rival is sitting in the midst of a self-created quarterback conundrum.

It's only OTAs but the Eagles can already laugh off the Jaxson Dart hype

When the New York Giants signed both Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson, and followed that up by drafting Jaxson Dart, they knew what was coming. And, Eagles fans were simply hoping for a little added entertainment.

Boy, did they get that in a recent OTA practice. I'll once again reiterate: it is only OTAs, but Dart began team periods just about as bad as he could on Thursday: 5 of 9 with a sack, 2 INTs & 2 PBU at the line.

In short, that's ... not great, Bob.

The Eagles defense could give Jaxson Dart his 'welcome to the NFL' moment

It all depends on how the Giants' season shakes out, but there is a very good chance the Eagles could be the team to give Dart his "welcome to the NFL" moment as a rookie.

Philly doesn't play the Giants until Week 6 and then they turn around and play them again in Week 8. It might be a little early to see Dart in that first matchup, but if the Giants have only one or two wins by Week 8, there's a good shot Dart is out on the field for that one.

This is, of course, assuming that the likes of Russell Wilson doesn't have the Giants in position to compete by midseason. At this point, who knows. It is only June.

But, the Eagles defense will be ready regardless. If it happens to be Dart in either one of those matchups, Philadelphia will have their opportunity to give Dart a rude awakening. This is a defense that just continued loading up throughout the offseason and isn't slowing down anytime soon.

The good news for Dart and the Giants? If he does get that "welcome to the NFL" moment courtesy of Philly, at least it's out of the way. Think of it as a learning experience. The Eagles are more than happy to help, in this case.
