J.J. Watt keeps teasing unretirement to join Bengals

Cincinnati Bengals star J.J. Watt?

Bengals fans surely like the sound of that and Watt was more than happy to joke around about coming out of retirement to join Joe Burrow and Co. while posting on social media this weekend.

By now, many Bengals fans surely know the backstory here. Watt, partial owner of Burnley F.C., made a bet with goalkeeper James Trafford back in December that he would come out of retirement to join the Bengals if Trafford doesn’t surrender a goal for the remainder of the season.

Roughly 10 days ago, Watt shared a historic moment for Burnley as the clean sheet streak extended to 10 straight matches. That streak has only grown since.

While the streak extending long enough to get Watt on the same defensive line as Trey Hendrickson remains highly unlikely, Watt is nonetheless starting to do some of the prep work for a return — just in case.
