Jahan Dotson Is Changing His Jersey Number With Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles offense should bounce back during the 2024 NFL season after a disappointing showing last year.

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA - AUGUST 24: Jahan Dotson #87 of the Philadelphia Eagles looks on prior to the preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings at Lincoln Financial Field on August 24, 2024 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

After a hot start to the 2023 NFL season, the Eagles struggled to move the football downfield efficiently and it cost them a chance at a Super Bowl run.

However, Philadelphia made some changes both on and off the field this offseason and it should hopefully result in better scoring outputs.

A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith are the key cogs of the passing game, while new starting running back Saquon Barkley should dominate the backfield touches.

Despite all the firepower, the Eagles made sure to bolster their chances more when they swung a deal for Washington Commanders wideout Jahan Dotson.

Dotson is an exciting add to the offense and he will wear No. 83 for his new team via NFL Jersey Numbers.

“Philadelphia Eagles WR Jahan Dotson is wearing number 83. Last assigned to Jack Stoll.”

Dotson is a former first-round pick who showed real promise while in Washington, but never quite took off like the team was hoping for.

Despite that, he lands in a great situation in Philadelphia where he won’t be asked to dominate the target share and instead serve in a complementary role alongside Brown and Smith.

Dotson’s got great straight-line speed and the ability to grab contested catches, so he should be able to open up the field for his teammates.

With the No. 3 receiver role locked down in the offense, this is arguably the Eagles’ best shot to get back to the Super Bowl.
