Just a few months ago, we expected to have a winner between Mike Tyson (58) and Jake Paul (27) by now. The fight, originally scheduled for July 20, was delayed due to Tyson's medical concerns as he recovered from a recent ulcer flare-up. While the 30-year age differenceseems to favor Paul, with his youth, athleticism, and a 10-1 record, it's hard to count out Tyson. With an impressive 50 wins out of 58 fights-44 of those by knockout-Tyson remains a formidable opponent. After all, he's living legend Mike Tyson.
Jake Paul terrified of the Big Guys
At a launch press conference in Washington, D.C., between Cameroon's Francis Ngannou (17-3) and Brazil's Renan Ferreira (13-3), the heavyweights went face-to-face for the first time ahead of their bout in Mayadeen, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on October 19. Jake Paul, who was the host of the event, stood between the fighters and appeared tiny next to the heavyweights. Paul, as seen in the video, admitted candidly, "I'm not gonna lie, I wouldn't have done anything if they had started fighting, they're very, very strong."
It's wise of Paul to acknowledge, as he put it, "Can confirm I s**t," as an answer to the tweet, because his 200 pounds would have been no match against Ngannou's 255 pounds or Ferreira's 262 pounds. Ngannou will compete in MMA for the first time in over two years, his last fight being a win in defense of his undisputed heavyweight championship against Ciryl Gane in January 2022. Meanwhile, Ferreira recently defeated Ryan Bader in February of this year by TKO in the first round. These two fighters will face very different realities when they step into the ring.
Paul vs. Tyson Is Set
As the fight date of November 15 approaches, it's clear that Paul will need more than just physical preparation. Youth and athleticism are Jake's primary weapons, while Tyson's advantage lies in his vast experience. In this matchup, youth might have the upper hand, but both fighters know that a fight isn't just about strength-it's also about strategy and mentality, so will see who can outsmart the other in this high-stakes contest. Remember, you can catch the fight live on Netflix.
