Jake Paul’s Mom Fears For His Fight With Mike Tyson – ‘Mike Looks Scary And Big’

Jake Paul’s mother is afraid for her son’s upcoming fight with Mike Tyson

Boxing: Jake Paul's mother 'very scared' after watching Mike Tyson footage ahead of controversial boxing fight

Paul faces Tyson on November 15 in Neftlix’s first-ever boxing fight. The fight was set for July 20, only for Tyson to withdraw with an inflamed ulcer. Mike Perry stepped in as Paul stopped him in round six. There were calls for the Tyson fight to get called off after worries over Tyson being too old at 58. Meanwhile, Paul is much younger at 27 and has had three fights since last December. Those were stoppage wins over Andre AugustRyan Bourland and Perry.

As for Tyson, his last pro fight was a 2005 defeat to Kevin McBride. Meanwhile, he last entered the ring in 2020 in an exhibition against Roy Jones Jr. Paul is seen as the massive favorite. However, Tyson is taking this seriously. He has spoken about banning sex, weed and eating raw meat for the fight. The following footage shows Tyson pushing himself in preparation for war. Based on his training, Paul admitted that his mother was worried for him.

Tyson’s Training

“But my mum is very scared actually. She keeps on asking me if I’m ready, asking my team if I’m if I’m ready and she’s not liking this one. Mike just looks scary and big… his Instagram videos look crazy. So she’s like watching all of that and just not liking it,” Paul said

Daniel Cormier still has reservations over the fight. He felt Paul could not win regardless of how the fight goes. A win for Paul does nothing for his legacy, as he is expected to win. Tyson is much older, while Paul aspires to become a world champion.

The Problem Child has previously called out Canelo Alvarez, meaning he must beat former retired fighters to entertain such a conversation. Paul also knows a loss damages his brand. He will not be able to command big paydays while also alienating the boxing community for talking up his credentials. While Tyson still looks capable of throwing punches, Cormier had major reservations.

Should It Happen?

“What if this looks like  58 year old man, fighting a 28-year-old man, where Mike can’t draw? I think it’s a lose-lose for Jake Paul, because if you beat up Mike Tyson, everybody loves Mike Tyson…Mike Tyson actually doesn’t need the money, so it’s surprising to me that he’s fighting…what if Mike knocks him out though? Then it’s over. Everything’s done. It would be an all-time backfire. Nothing’s ever been done like that in the history of the sport if he gets knocked out,” Cormier stated

Paul has been linked with other fights, too. He called out Alex Pereira after stopping Mike Perry. He FaceTimed the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion in the ring. Dana White dismissed that altogether. Meanwhile, fans have called for a bout with Bobby Lashley, who is considering making a comeback. Lashley has fought in MMA at StrikeForce and Bellator, meaning he is also an option for Paul’s PFL debut. Regardless, Paul must come through Tyson first.
