While he didn't finish as the MVP runner-up like he did in 2022, Hurts was able to put together a solid regular season and cap it off with a great postseason run. His efforts in Super Bowl 59 earned him the MVP of that game. And his efforts have finally paid off with some national respect this offseason.

Does Hurts finally getting some respect in the QB rankings?

Fox Sports released their NFL quarterback power rankings for the 2025 season, leading to fanbases across the league checking the list to see where their team's quarterback fell. When Eagles fans checked the list, they were met with a pleasant surprise as they had to scroll way down the article to find Hurts.

Hurts came in at number five on Fox Sports' power rankings entering 2025, a big step up from their rankings at the end of the 2024 regular season, where Hurts came in 11th. A big postseason run no doubt had a considerable impact on that. Here's what Fox Sports had to say about Hurts entering the 2025 season.

"The Eagles were at their best in an efficiency-based passing offense — maximizing each throw, but throwing relatively sparingly. So, what happens if this Eagles defense isn’t reliable — or even good? That’ll put more on Hurts. I look forward to seeing him taking over a few games with his arm."

Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, and Lamar Jackson are the four quarterbacks ranked above Hurts on Fox Sports' list. While Hurts gained some respect regarding his overall placement, it's clear Fox Sports still has questions about Hurts' ability to take over a game.

With the overall strength of the Eagles roster, he may not have to. He was more than good enough to win a Super Bowl last year and at only 26 years old, there's reason to believe Hurts is just scratching the surface of his potential. Eagles fans will hope he continues to climb the list going forward.
