Newly acquired Pittsburgh Steelers corner Jalen Ramsey appears to have made a decision on the number he'll don for the black and gold.
After being traded to Pittsburgh from the Miami Dolphins on Monday, the seven-time Pro Bowler took to social media to give fans their first look at his new Steelers jersey which has a familiar digit on the back.
Ramsey's No. 5 number previously belonged to fellow cornerback D'Shawn Jamison who spent last season on the Steelers' practice squad but never never saw game action.
The three-time All-Pro has worn that number in each of the last four seasons starting with his initial jersey change back in 2021. Prior to that the former fifth overall pick rocked No. 20 as a member of the Jags and his first couple years in LA.
Ramsey likely would've made the switch earlier if he entered the league before its less strict jersey number policy because at Florida State he also kept it to single digits by wearing the No. 8.
While some feel he may not be the player he once was, J-Ram is still one of the most decorated defensive backs of his generation with accolades that will give him a decent shot at landing in Canton someday.
With Minkah Fitzpatrick leaving on the other side of the trade, it's possible Ramsey also sees some snaps at safety in 2025.
The former Super Bowl champ is due $26.6 million from the Steelers next season with the Dolphins paying the other $7 million they owed him on his current deal.
