The Cincinnati Bengals and superstar wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase were able to work out a new contract this offseason. Finally, the questions and concerns about his future can be put to rest.
When all was said and done, Chase received a four-year, $161 million deal from the Bengals.
Not only did they bring Chase back, they were also able to re-sign Tee Higgins. In that deal, Cincinnati paid out a four-year, $115 million contract. The Bengals are locked in at wide receiver for years to come.
Following his new deal, Chase has talked about a variety of different topics. Recently, he discussed the best defensive back he has ever gone up against and he offered a surprising answer.
As shared by MLFootball on X, Chase revealed that New England Patriots cornerback Carlton Davis is the best defensive back he's played against in the NFL. Davis signed with the Patriots in free agency this offseason.
"For me, I'll say Carlton Davis," Chase said. "One of the reasons why I say Carlton Davis is because he was longer than I expected, you know what I'm saying? Longer arms, and he just, he ain't got no knee bend. He just hunched his back over and just played defense, you know what I'm saying? So, I think I played him twice, too. So, you know, he made some good plays on me, so I ain't gonna never forget."
