Jared Goff Sends Blunt 6-Word Message to Tom Brady in Season 2 Tease of Netflix's 'Quarterback'

After the success of the first season of Netflix's series "Quarterback," the streaming platform is rolling out trailers and clips of the upcoming second season, which will premiere on July 8.

Jared Goff Sends Blunt 6-Word Message to Tom Brady in Season 2 Tease of Netflix's 'Quarterback'

In a teaser posted by Netflix on X and promoted by the NFL, a clip shows Tom Brady broadcasting from the booth of a game. He says to his broadcast partner, Kevin Burkhardt, and the audience at home that he'd love to be the quarterback of the Detroit Lions' offense.

"It's just so much fun," Brady said.

The clip makes a quick cut to Lions quarterback Jared Goff, who's also been shown in the video completing big plays and celebrating with his team.

"Yeah, too bad, Tom," Goff replied. "You're retired."

In its first season, which aired in July 2023, the show followed three NFL quarterbacks: Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings, Marcus Mariota of the Atlanta Falcons and Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs.

In the forthcoming second season, which was filmed during the 2024 NFL season, there will be some new faces paired with a familiar one. Cousins will be back on the show as a new member of the Atlanta Falcons.

The other two quarterbacks are Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals and Jared Goff of the Detroit Lions.

In 2024, Netflix and the NFL struggled to find subjects for a second season and instead chose to pivot to following pass-catchers. The aptly named "Receiver" spinoff premiered last July and followed Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings, Davante Adams of the Las Vegas Raiders, Amon-Ra St. Brown of the Detroit Lions and both George Kittle and Deebo Samuel of the San Francisco 49ers.

"Quarterback" is executive produced by Peyton Manning and a trio of production companies: NFL Films, 2PM Productions and Omaha Productions.
