In just under 24 hours the Detroit Lions will face off against the Washington Commanders in a divisional showdown with the chance to make the NFC title game on the line.

Ahead of the game, Lions quarterback Jared Goff heaped praise on rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels as the two prepare for a battle between a former No. 1 overall pick and the No. 2 overall pick.

“Yeah, it’s extremely impressive, very impressive for anyone that young to do what he’s doing,” Goff said in his Tuesday news conference. ”It doesn’t look like he is a rookie, it doesn’t look like he feels like a rookie. It feels like he understands the moment and is comfortable in it and our job on defense is to try to make him uncomfortable. It’s been a challenge for a lot of teams this year, but I’m excited to see what they do.”

While Goff and the Lions are focused on their own game, they did have a little fun during practice this week. The social media team posted a video of players picking between former Ohio State star Taylor Decker and former Notre Dame standout Brock Wright.

Goff was the final player to make a pick - and he did so with a shot at Ohio State by naming the team's biggest rival.

"Go Blue," he said referencing the Michigan Wolverines while hoisting a photo Brock Wright during his Notre Dame days. When teammate Alex Anzalone questioned his choice, Goff doubled down by saying, "Go Blue!"

While Goff played his college ball at Cal, he's clearly adopted some Michigan pride after playing in Detroit.
