Leave it to The Valley’s Jason Caperna, a practiced lawyer, to not only be well aware of that principle, but to stick to it.

In a revealing interview with The Daily Dish, Jason admitted that he “had a meeting with partners” at his firm before signing on for The Valley, airing Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo. Naturally, there were some concerns about how reality television would clash with his work. Here's what Jason had to say about that.

What did Jason Caperna tell his law firm about The Valley?
While he's a devoted husband to Janet Caperna and a doting dad to their newborn baby, Jason has also carved out a respected career in the legal field.

Jason is a partner with the law firm Acumen Law, LLP in Glendale, California, where he’s worked for more than a decade, per his LinkedIn bio. He earned his law degree in 2009 from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.

Although they don’t teach common sense in law school, Jason clearly possesses it.

Asked by The Daily Dish if he warned his colleagues that he was doing The Valley, Jason immediately confessed that he was an open book.

“Before we did the show, I had a meeting with my partners,” he explained, adding that his strategy was “tell them everything.”

In other words, he wasn’t a hostile witness.

“I’ve been very transparent the entire time with everybody I work with," he confirmed.

Jason had a compelling cause to lay his cards on the table, since the Bravoverse can be unpredictable.

“Some offices I’m sure would not appreciate their attorneys putting themselves out there and being on reality television. But my partners know me,” he continued. “They know that I’m not the kind of guy who’s gonna go around throwing drinks and cursing people out and screaming at women. So, they weren’t too worried.”

He also felt it could be a helpful opportunity for the entire law firm itself.

“We thought … getting me out there a little bit could … help with marketing and business and things like that,” Jason said. “So we saw it as a potential positive.”

Jason acknowledged that people in the law world have noticed him on The Valley, though.

“I get the occasional emails from opposing counsel, saying, ‘Oh, I saw you on TV,’ but that hasn’t deterred any business or hurt me at this point," he explained.

Keep up with Jason and the whole cast of The Valley, airing Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
