Jason Garrett Still in Awe of Jets’ Aaron Rodgers

Jason Garrett has been around the NFL for over four decades. As a former quarterback, he knows the pressure and skill set needed to excel in the modern game.

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers to miss the rest of the 2023 NFL season with an Achilles tear, coach says | CNN

It's why the former Coach of the Year has been left in awe over the years regarding four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers.

Garrett had retired as a quarterback when the now New York Jets quarterback was drafted in 2005, but the natural throwing motion has always been elite to the coach.

"He's just an amazing player, first and foremost, and the way he throws the ball I think is unique and as good as anybody who's ever played," Garrett said on the New York Jets podcast. "To hear him talk about that, the things that he thinks about, the things that are important to him as a passer is really fun."

As the Jets prepare for the start of the 2024 season, Rodgers' leadership and skills are expected to help end New York's 13-year drought. It's something alone that Garrett thinks is expected to happen.

Just like the all-time great signal-caller he grew up watching."I think he's a really talented guy, but he's a really thoughtful guy. I think he's had a very natural motion throughout his life. He talked about watching Joe Montana as a kid and then going out in the year and throwing with his brother and his dad and having some of those incredible role models when he was young."
