Jax Taylor Hopes He and Brittany Cartwright Can Be ‘Really Good Friends’ Post-Divorce

Jax Taylor has been going through a lot lately. He’s back to filming The Valley after a stint in a mental health facility. His divorce with Brittany Cartwright is officially official, now that she’s filed paperwork with the court. It’s safe to say that transitioning into “adulthood” hasn’t been as easy for him as he might have hoped.

Jax Taylor wants friendship with Brittany Cartwright.

A lot of Vanderpump Rules fans have been waiting to hear from Jax about everything going on in his life. Now that he’s left the mental health facility, Jax is ready to talk. He recently hopped on his When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany podcast, without his estranged wife, to explain his side of the story. Jax was joined by his friend/life coach Scott Kaufman for moral support.

Jax Taylor keeps it cordial

In the first episode since his return, Jax didn’t waste time and immediately addressed his divorce. “It’s been a really rough week,” he said bluntly. He acknowledged that Brittany was the one to file the paperwork, but he understood why and agreed with the decision. “I will always love and care for Brittany. I mean, she’s the mother of my beautiful son,” Jax added. It’s nice to see him keep it cordial, as we all know how ugly these reality TV divorce battles can get.

Jax kept it brief by declaring his goal is to be “amicable co-parents” with Brittany. “And even, hopefully, really good friends one day,” he added. Now that’s an interesting request so suddenly after the divorce announcement. Jax finished up by doubling down on this idea. “I know I’m an amazing father and I know I will make an excellent ex-husband,” he concluded. As Jax knows better than anyone, actions speak louder than words.
