Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart has quickly become one of the most interesting quarterback prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft. His impressive performance at the Senior Bowl garnered a lot of attention and he's been moving up draft boards.
Some believe he could sneak into the first round but it's still more likely that he's a second-round pick. The New York Jets are moving on from Aaron Rodgers this offseason and don't have a replacement on the roster.
Dart may be better off going to a team where he could sit for a year or two to learn but Pro Football Network expects him to end up in New York.
In a recent mock draft, they projected Dart to be selected by the Jets with the No. 33 pick.
"With Aaron Rodgers on the way out, the Jets could end up finding another veteran in a trade or free agency to take over as their starting quarterback," PFN wrote. "That said, don’t rule out them targeting a young quarterback as their heir apparent."
"The aptly-named Jaxson Dart has a strong arm and ideal ball placement across the middle of the field. He’s also shown some dual-threat capabilities as a runner. He doesn’t seem like a quarterback ready to start right away, but he’s shown tools over his time at Ole Miss that could project him as a future starter at the NFL level."
It has been a long time since the Jets had a franchise quarterback and there would be a lot of pressure for Dart to perform at a high level quickly.
