Jayden Daniels still thinks about NFC championship game loss

How long does it take to get over losing in a conference championship game? Well, that depends on the individual. For Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, that 55-23 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in January's NFC championship game still sits with him.

“Every day, probably until like March or April," Daniels told Chick Hernandez of WUSA9 in Washington, D.C., when asked how long that loss stuck with him.

"It was a tough one because, all of February, that's all I was thinking about, and then March, you start trying to get out of, April....I still think about it to this day. Obviously, I had to see those guys a couple of times." Daniels was referring to seeing Eagles' players, specifically running back Saquon Barkley, this offseason.

That's the perfect response. It shows Daniels' competitive fire. The young quarterback and all of his teammates know that Philadelphia is the bar. And the Eagles just happen to be in the same division. Therefore, general manager Adam Peters spent the offseason trying to chase down the Eagles, specifically by strengthening the offensive line in front of Daniels and adding defenders to stop Barkley.

This is now where random Eagles fans chime in. There's a peculiar obsession with Daniels from the Philly fan base that differs from that of Dallas or New York. Why? Because they know the Commanders are no longer a joke. Washington finally solved the quarterback position. And they just didn't solve it. The Commanders drafted a superstar.
