Jeremy Swayman not listed among training camp attendees for the Boston Bruins

With NHL training camps set to get underway in days, noticeably absent from the Boston Bruins list of attendees is restricted free agent goaltender Jeremy Swayman.

Status of Jeremy Swayman isn't the only question facing Bruins on the eve of camp - The Boston Globe

Well it's not quite panic time for the Boston Bruins just yet, but you have to think it's getting very close. With training camps set to open across the NHL in a couple for days, the Boston Bruins apparent number one goalie is not among their players who will be present.

Restricted free agent goaltender Jeremy Swayman, who became Boston's number one between the pipes when the team traded fellow goalie Linus Ullmark to the Ottawa Senators for Joonas Korpisalo and a first-round pick, is not listed on the Bruins roster for training camp. If he is not signed before it starts, he will go into the team's reserve section for now.

The current standoff between Jeremy Swayman and the Boston Bruins is a hot topic of conversation, according to team captain Brad Marchand. Marchand is confident a deal will get done.

'It's a big topic of conversation with the fans and the media, and this is part of the business, and we all are really looking forward to when it does get done and the process is over and he is back with the group. But that's obviously out of our hands and we don't get involved in any of that. So it'll be great when everything gets kind of squared away.'

Jeremy Swayman is rumoured to be asking for $10 million a season from the Boston Bruins. That's a tough ask for Boston GM Don Sweeney, who has just $8.6 million in cap space currently available. Without Swayman, Boston will likely look to rely on Joonas Korpisalo in net, which is not an enviable position to be in.
