Jets' Aaron Glenn Proud Beating Packers: 'Our Brand Of Football!'

It might only be preseason, but don't tell New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn that the 30-13 win over the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field meant nothing.

With Justin Fields and the offense finding a good rhythm early, the Jets got things rolling playing their style of football, with the offensive line getting serious pushback and the defense doing their part, too.

But while some might scoff at the performance given it was "only" preseason, it was an important step to take for Glenn and what he is trying to build here. For so long, the Jets haven't been accustomed to winning.

For Glenn, that stops now.

"Preseason or not, a win is a win," Glenn said. "I was always taught if you want to be a winner, not only have to understand how to win, but to understand how to consistently win. This is a great win for our guys. A lot of good things that happened in this game, but there's a lot of things that we got to clean up. A number of things, and we will clean those up. I just thought that was our brand of football for the most part."

So, while there will be a host of things to evaluate on film in the next couple of days, the biggest thing to come out of the Packers game was the mental side of it.

This Jets team needed some sort of validation that what Glenn is building here will get results. Now, a preseason win doesn't "really" count for much, but it is huge for instilling belief into a franchise that has lacked it for years.

So, while many scoff at the win over Green Bay, you better believe Glenn and his team are putting it in their back pocket, as a small sign that things are trending in the right direction.

Preseason or not, a win is a win.
