The New York Jets had a disastrous situation at the kicker position in 2024, with kickers on the team making just 71.4 percent of field goal attempts on the year, the third-worst make percentage in the league. But hopefully, this won’t be an issue in 2025 for the Jets, as they sured up the kicker position by bringing in a veteran who is quite familiar with the organization.
On Wednesday, the Jets made the decision to sign veteran kicker Nick Folk, who will be entering his 18th season in the NFL in 2025 at 40 years of age, according to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.
Jets have signed veteran kicker Nick Folk, who played seven seasons for them from 2010-16. Folk’s 729 points are No. 2 on the Jets’ career list, trailing only Pat Leahy's 1,470.

While Folk is getting up there in age, he was incredibly reliable for the Tennessee Titans in 2024, making 21 of the 22 field goal attempts he tried on the year.
As Schefter alluded to in his report on the Folk signing, the veteran does have quite the history with the Jets. From 2010 to 2016, Folk served as the Jets kicker, becoming the second highest career points leader in the team’s history behind just Pat Leahy.
It will be interesting to see whether Folk can continue to produce in 2025, or whether Father Time will finally catch up to him. But either way, you have to credit the Jets organization for at least attempting to patch up a clear problem for the team last season.
