Jets Coach Reveals Offense Will Be 'Hunting' Under Tanner Engstrand

The New York Jets' offense last season left a lot to be desired, and now, with a new player and coaching staff, things are changing.

Jets Coach Reveals Offense Will Be 'Hunting' Under Tanner Engstrand

Tanner Engstrand is in as offensive coordinator, with Justin Fields leading his unit, which has some question marks over it, especially at the receiver position.

Only Garrett Wilson as the main target, with Josh Reynolds and Allen Lazard behind him, isn't considered a top trio, but there is one thing the Jets have in their favor.

Breece Hall and Braelon Allen as a one-two punch out of the backfield is a nice thing to have, plus an offensive line that is considered one of the more talented units in football.

Still, what the Jets want to do overall on offense was a little bit of a mystery...until now.

Passing game coordinator Scott Turner gave a little insight into what to expect in 2025.

"It's going to be a physical system," Turner said via ESPN. "We're going to run the football, we're going to be aggressive up front and try to chase explosive plays [in the passing game]. ... That's what we're going to be hunting."

With Hall, Allen, and Fields as running threats, it does make sense to be a run-first offense, particularly with the offensive line the Jets have.

It is up to Engstrand to bring that vision to life, and he has the pieces to do so.

The offseason looms as a key foundational building phase for the Jets under head coach Aaron Glenn, and the offense is likely to be the one that makes headlines, for better or worse, in 2025.

And now, we know how Engstrand wants his unit to play in 2025, with Hall and Allen being the key figureheads in getting this thing off the ground.
