The New York Jets' draft plan for most is simple, as they hold the No. 7 pick.
However, as we know, when you are picking that high, you can't afford to miss. Plus, the Jets have a host of roster needs that taking a top-tier talent early in round one could fix.
But which way should the franchise go?
Offense looms as the obvious choice, with Justin Fields tasked with leading the franchise into a new era, but another question remains: which offensive position is most urgently needed?
ESPN's Rich Cimini has narrowed it down to two positions.
"New head coach Aaron Glenn doesn't like to be labeled a defensive coach; he believes strongly in his offensive expertise," Cimini writes. "Chances are the Jets will go offense with the No. 7 pick, taking either a plug-and-play right tackle (Armand Membou?) or a much-needed target for new quarterback Justin Fields (Penn State tight end Tyler Warren?). Right now, the only big-time pass catcher on their roster is wide receiver Garrett Wilson."
So, a tackle or another weapon for Fields at No. 7.
Aaron Rodgers was sacked 40 times last year (12th), which is a little high, but teams can likely live with that number. But then we look at the Jets' offensive skill players, and it is here where the true need is revealed.
Aside from Garrett Wilson, no offensive weapon will scare a defense (maybe Breece Hall).
Josh Reynolds, Malachi Corley, Allen Lazard (if he remains on the roster), Tyler Johnson, and Xavier Gipson are the options behind Wilson, and that isn't ideal. Plus, at tight end, Jeremy Ruckert is the starter if New York had a game today, and that isn't ideal either.
So while Cimini has narrowed it down to two spots, we think we've narrowed it down to one - get Fields another weapon.
