Jets ‘Infatuated’ With This 1 First-Round Draft Stud

The New York Jets are in need of a starting tight end. Their former starting tight end, Tyler Conklin, was a free agent and recently signed with the Los Angeles Chargers. They apparently are all in on Penn State's Tyler Warren, the top tight end in next month's NFL Draft.

New York has a few tight ends on the roster, but none of the names jump off the page and yell starter. The Jets tight ends are Jeremy Ruckert, Stone Smartt, Zack Kuntz and Neal Johnson. They have a combined total one touchdown between the bunch.

Based on the foregoing, tight end is a position of need the Jets could address with their first round selection, seventh overall. They are high on Warren, but so is the rest of the league. Warren should be on the board when the Jets select in the first round.

Warren is an impressive physical specimen. He is 6-foot-6 and 256 pounds. He had 104 receptions for 1,223 yards and eight scores last season for Penn State, who fell one game short of an appearance in the College Football Playoff Championship Game. Warren also scored four touchdowns rushing and is force to be reckoned with out of the backfield near the goal line.

Take Flight Media's Harrison Glaser cited Sportskeeda's Tony Pauline on Saturday in reporting on the Jets feelings about Warren.

"Everything I've heard points to the #Jets being infatuated with Tyler Warren to the point that they are trying to set up multiple meetings with the tight end."- @TonyPauline."
