Mike McCarthy was Aaron Rodgers' head coach for most of his career with the Green Bay Packers, so the now New York Jets quarterback knows very well what the current Dallas Cowboys head coach is capable of.
Besides, Rodgers won his lone Super Bowl title under McCarthy's guidance.
That said, the 40-year-old signal-caller is confident that his former coach will be able to overcome the current problems he's facing with the Cowboys. Dallas has lost four straight games and is currently in real danger of missing the playoffs, especially with starting quarterback Dak Prescott likely out for the season due to injury.
"What I know about Mike is, if anybody can handle that, down there, it's big Mike," Rodgers said confidently during The Pat McAfee Show.
"Big Mike is built for, he's built for adversity."
The Cowboys entered the 2024 season with high expectations after a 2023 campaign that saw them finish with a 12-5 record. Sure enough, the franchise has been a big disappointment so far, tallying a 3-6 record through Week 10.
McCarthy is in the final season of his five-year contract, and while Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he's not interested in firing the veteran tactician and making a coaching change in the middle of the season, the current situation is certainly not ideal for his future in Dallas.
It remains to be seen if McCarthy can still turn things around for the Cowboys, though by the looks of it, Aaron Rodgers is not doubting him.
