Jets QB Legend Joe Namath's Opinion of Aaron Rodgers Made Perfectly Clear

After a horrendous 5-13 season with the New York Jets, Aaron Rodgers' future with the team and the NFL is now a major question mark.

Jets QB Legend Joe Namath's Opinion of Aaron Rodgers Made Perfectly Clear

Rodgers is still undecided about whether he would retire or keep playing. And should he choose to extend his career, it has yet to be seen whether or not it would be with the Jets or another franchise.

That being said, while several Jets fans want Rodgers gone from the team next season, one franchise legend hopes for him to return to New York and give it another shot.

Former quarterback Joe Namath, who won Super Bowl III with the Jets back in 1969, expressed his belief that Rodgers still has it in him to play at the highest level and lead the team to success.

"After watching [Aaron Rodgers] play today, there’s no doubt he’s got at a least another year in him," Namath wrote. "So if he WANTS to, I’d love to see him stay with the Jets. He could definitely help the new GM and coach, as well as play ball. He’s still throwing with accuracy and authority."

Aaron Rodgers finished Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins with a season-high four touchdowns after completing 23 of his 36 passes for 274 yards. The 41-year-old QB also made history, as he reached the 500 passing touchdowns mark.

The Jets beat the Dolphins, 32-20, with Rodgers leading the way, allowing them to cap off the campaign on a winning note.

As Joe Namath said, that performance certainly provides fans a glimmer of hope should Rodgers opt to return to the Jets in the 2025 season. For now, though, the ball is in the quarterback's hands as he ponders what to do next.
