Jets RB Breece Hall Assigns Blame On Disappointing Season

With quarterback Aaron Rodgers making his highly-anticipated return this year after suffering a season-ending Achilles injury in Week 1 of 2023, many were expecting the New York Jets to be one of the top teams in the NFL.

Jets RB Breece Hall Assigns Blame On Disappointing Season

However, through ten weeks, that has not been the case, as the Jets have fallen to 3-7 and are a few games back from a potential Wild Card spot in the playoffs.

A big issue for New York through the first half of the season has been its ground game. Led by running back Breece Hall, who many also expected to take a leap in 2024, the Jets have boasted one of the worst rushing attacks in the league, averaging 86.8 yards per game on the ground. This ranks 30th in the NFL, just ahead of the Dallas Cowboys and Las Vegas Raiders.

On Thursday, Hall, the former Iowa State All-American, spoke to the media regarding his disappointing season, assigning blame on himself for it.

"Didn't start off as well as I wanted to," Hall said. "I think I started off okay. It is what it is. You know, just staying the course of this season. I'm not going to point the finger at anybody else but myself. I'm just going to continue to keep trying to help the team in any way I can and try to make the most of the opportunities I'm given."

Hall has played in all ten games for the Jets this year, recording 136 carries for 554 yards and three touchdowns on the ground while adding 39 catches for 358 yards and another score through the air.

New York will look to salvage its season over the next month as it enters one of the easiest portions of the schedule. Over the next six weeks, the Jets will play five teams that boast a record of below .500 as of Week 10 and will also get a week off. This stretch will start with a Week 11 battle against the 4-6 Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
