The Michigan Wolverines are hoping to improve upon last season's 8-5 record with another championship season after they failed to defend their incredible run of three straight conference titles.
The Wolverines will face stiff competition from teams with experienced quarterbacks in the league this year including Penn State with Drew Allar and Illinois with Luke Altmyer.
Recently, the Wolverines' newest hope at the position, freshman QB Bryce Underwood, joined 'The Rich Eisen Show' to reveal his goals with Michigan, including two Heisman Trophies and a national championship.
Following the interview, Underwood got a show of support from a player who reached one of those mountaintops during his career in Ann Arbor, while challenging at times for the other one.
JJ McCarthy of the Minnesota Vikings, a former national champ with the Wolverines who challenged for the Heisman Trophy at times during his Michigan career, shared a two-word show of support with the dual-threat future Michigan signal caller.
"Young (king)," McCarthy appeared to say to Underwood as he shared a crown emoji on Underwood's Instagram post of him on the Eisen Show.
Underwood also got a show of support from Detroit Lions All-Pro defensive back Kerby Joseph, who shared two fire emojis on the Belleville five-star's post.
The freshman quarterback is expected to compete with transfer Mikey Keene and potentially last year's starter, Davis Warren, for the starting job in Ann Arbor this spring.
