Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love completed 57% of his throws on true dropbacks in 2024, throwing 15 touchdowns and 15 interceptions, averaging 7.5 yards per attempt with a 77.6 passer rating. Among all starting quarterbacks, he ranked 26th in completion percentage, 27th in passer rating, and had the poorest touchdown-to-interception ratio.
Still, it is fair to note that Love played through knee and groin injuries for much of the season and yet ranked as a top-10 passer across nearly every advanced metric. Additionally, his 3.4% turnover-worthy play rate under pressure in 2024 was the second-lowest among Packers quarterbacks in the past decade.

Love’s sophomore season as Green Bay’s starting quarterback had its ups and downs, but for Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, he must play significantly better in 2025 to avoid landing on the hot seat soon.
"He’s not on the hot seat per se, but he needs to play better in 2025 than he did in 2024. If not, he will be on the hot seat in 2026. The wild card in Green Bay is new CEO Ed Policy, who operates as the de facto owner of the team," Florio wrote.
Florio is not the first member of the sports media to discuss Jordan Love’s long-term security. Back in late February, ESPN Wisconsin’s Jason Wilde also addressed the topic, offering a more measured take on the situation:
"I think Matt LaFleur, Jordan Love, and Brian Gutekunst are not on the hot seat, but under the microscope," Wilde said during a conversation on The Homer Tour podcast.
There should be some pressure on Jordan Love to take a step forward in 2025. Green Bay bolstered the supporting cast around him, adding Matthew Golden, Savion Williams, and Mecole Hardman to the receiving corps, along with Aaron Banks, Anthony Belton, and John Williams to strengthen the offensive line. If Love can stay healthy, the upgraded supporting cast gives him every opportunity to lead a more explosive and efficient Packers offense in 2025.
Love signed a four-year, $220 million extension with Green Bay in 2024, and the structure of the deal suggests the team would not realistically move on from him until 2027 at the earliest. Still, those are just hypotheticals for now — the Packers remain confident that Love is the quarterback who can lead Titletown back to the promised land. However, results need to follow. If they do not, the questions surrounding him will only grow louder.
