Josh Jacobs had an emotional reaction to Packers clinching playoff berth

What a great moment for the first-year Packer.

Going into their Monday Night Football matchup with the New Orleans Saints, the Green Bay Packers knew what was at stake.

If they were able to win in front of their home crowd at Lambeau Field, then they were in the playoffs. It was that simple.

In what ended up being an absolute smothering of the Saints, the Packers came away with an easy victory by the score of 34-0. Everybody got in on the action in this one, including three running backs finding the end zone.

Among them, of course, was one of the team's brightest stars this season, Josh Jacobs. The addition of Jacobs in Green Bay has meant everything to this football team. It isn't that Aaron Jones wasn't a good player, but the physicality that Jacobs has brought is what's allowed this offense to be that much more potent.

Jacobs ran it 13 times for 69 yards and a touchdown while catching four passes for 38 yards as well. The Packers' early dominance allowed for other backs to get involved, too. But, after the game, it was Jacobs who truly relished the moment.

Josh Jacobs soaked in the moment and couldn't quite put it into words after the MNF win

The Packers clinched a playoff spot in the win. This was something Jacobs hadn't been accustomed to early on in his career.

Prior to joining the Packers, Jacobs spent his entire five-year career with the Las Vegas Raiders. Only one of those seasons saw Jacobs' Raiders make the playoffs, back in 2021. Jacobs and the Raiders would go on to lose in the Wild Card that year, which means whatever upcoming playoff game the Packers get set to play will be the second of his career.

"Man, it's kind of hard to put into words. It's the main reason why I came here," Jacobs told reporters after the game.

"I'm loving it. I'm enjoying the ride."

"I mean, we're playing for something. You got games in front of you," Jacobs said of playing meaningful football in December. "We're still fighting ... it just feels like our ceiling keeps going up. I'm just happy to be a part of it."

To finish the regular season, Jacobs also has the chance to both tie and break a Packers franchise record set by Paul Hornung back in 1960 when he scored a rushing touchdown in seven straight games. Currently, Jacobs has done it in six straight contests.

If Jacobs is able to get into the end zone Sunday against the Vikings, he ties it.

And then, in Week 18, he could break the all-time franchise record against ... the Chicago Bears.
