Justin Reid chose the New Orleans Saints over reigning champs because he believes in 'Louisiana All-Star team'

The splashiest move of the New Orleans Saints' offseason so far has to be adding safety Justin Reid to their roster during early free agency. Reid immediately slots into starting role and has played like one of the better veteran safeties in the AFC over the past few years.

Not to mention, Reid shares a strong relationship with Tyrann Mathieu. The Saints have made multiple additions of former LSU players over the past two weeks, including Reid. Of course, Mathieu was a superstar as a Tiger as well.

Reid discussed his decision to join New Orleans recently on the Up and Adams Show with Kay Adams.

The Eagles and Titans were two of the other finalists for Reid's services, outside of Kansas City. He was tempted by the chance to help Philly get back-to-back Super Bowl wins, but ultimately, returning to The Big Easy won out for the long-time defensive back.

Reid also mentioned that he believes that the Saints can win the Super Bowl next season, and that's the goal for them.

Reid is very excited to return to a city that has showed him so much love throughout his playing career and life. He's ready to show out for New Orleans, undoubtedly. The Saints need him to as well.

For New Orleans, the addition made all of the sense in the world. They've targeted veteran safeties consistently for about a decade now, and Reid already has ties to their other starter at the position.

Not to mention, their need at the position was huge, as there's almost no experience on the depth chart at safety outside of Reid and Mathieu now. Those two will try to help develop some young, depth pieces in the secondary for the Saints.
