The Kansas City Chiefs are beginning their preparations for Super Bowl 59, as they will be looking to become the first team in NFL history to win three straight championships. On Friday afternoon, the Chiefs got some intriguing injury news regarding wide receiver Skyy Moore.
For the most part, Kansas City is as healthy as they have been all season long. Only five players appeared on their latest injury report, and four of those five guys logged full practices. The one exception was Moore, who is on injured reserve with an abdomen injury.
Moore hasn't taken the field for the Chiefs since Week 6 after suffering this injury, but Friday was his first time taking the practice field in over three months, and while he didn't fully practice like the rest of his teammates, he did log a limited participation, leaving fans to wonder whether he could play in Super Bowl 59.
"Skyy Moore (IR) was limited in practice today," the Chiefs said on X, formerly known as Twitter, when sharing their injury report for Friday.
While it's encouraging to see Moore return to the practice field, he's still listed as doubtful for the Super Bowl. Furthermore, head coach Andy Reid indicated back in December that he doesn't believe that he or fellow wide receiver Rashee Rice have a shot of returning to action this season.
"There's a chance with Mecole (Hardman) and potentially (Jaylen) Watson. I mean, potentially, you know, that would be stretching it, the whole thing. But the other two, (Rice and wide receiver Skyy Moore), no," Reid said via KSHB 41 News when discussing the Chiefs injury situation.
Moore failed to haul in a single pass on offense through his six games played this year, although he did work as a return man that could prove helpful for the Chiefs. Kickoff for the Super Bowl is scheduled for Feb. 9, 6:30 p.m. EST, and while he's back practicing, it remains unlikely that Moore will play in this game for now.
