Kansas City Chiefs Could Consider Huge Trade for Seahawks WR

With the 2024 NFL trade deadline approaching quickly, the Kansas City Chiefs are widely expected to be open for business. If the right trade presents itself that will improve their chances of a three-peat as Super Bowl champions, they will likely pounce on it.

One position that they have been connected heavily to is wide receiver.

Adding more weapons for superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes is always a good idea. They have been connected to names like DeAndre Hopkins and Amari Cooper. Of course, Cooper has already been traded to the Buffalo Bills.

Now, there is another name that has been suggested as a potential trade target for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Kansas City Chiefs Could Consider Huge Trade for Seahawks Wide Receiver

Nick Villano of FanSided has named Tyler Lockett as a player that the Chiefs should target in trade discussions. He would be a lethal weapon for Mahoms and would likely be an affordable target as well.

“The Seattle Seahawks have Lockett’s replacement in Jaxson Smith-Njigba. He’s looked better and better each week. Lockett has been decent this season, but the Seahawks could be really good with or without Lockett. So, they can get a decent return for Lockett while not losing much on offense. It really feels like the right match. The Chiefs won’t have to give up everything to make the deal happen, and the Seahawks can get the most out of the Chiefs because they don’t hoard assets as they try to make a three-peat happen.”

Lockett has been mentioned as a potential trade candidate over the last couple of years. If the Kansas City Chiefs were to get him, he would have a chance to take his numbers to another level.

So far this season with the Seahawks, Lockett has caught 26 passes for 339 yards and a touchdown. He has been very productive for Geno Smith.

More than likely, the Chiefs could get him for a fourth-round pick or so. They shouldn’t have to pay more than that.

All of that being said, this could be something to keep an eye on. Lockett may not end up being available or be of interest to Kansas City, but he would make sense.
