Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes Post Before 2025 NFL Draft Draws Fan Reactions

Coming off a failed attempt to pull off the first-ever three-peat in the Super Bowl era, the Kansas City Chiefs are back to the drawing board this offseason, looking for ways to improve for a bounce-back campaign in 2025.

One way for Kansas City to accomplish its goals before the new season is by acing the 2025 NFL draft — just like they did in 2017.

The Chiefs appeared to be trying to manifest a successful draft this year with a post on social media on Monday.

“One pick can change everything,” the team’s post on X (formerly Twitter) read. It is a caption for a montage of clips of quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who was selected 10th overall in the first round of the 2017 NFL draft.

There is no denying that the Chiefs made the right pick with Mahomes. Since then, the former Texas Tech Red Raiders star has built a career worthy already of a spot in Canton one day — and he’s still just 29 years old.

So far in his NFL career, Mahomes has passed for 32,352 yards and 245 touchdowns against 74 interceptions on a 66.6 percent completion rate. With Mahomes as their regular starting quarterback, the Chiefs have won three Super Bowl titles. Along the way, Mahomes has won two NFL Most Valuable Player awards, six Pro Bowl nods and three Super Bowl MVP honors.
