There are certain players that have played for the Kansas City Chiefs in the past, that will never feel right not on the team.
It's a whole season now and another Super Bowl since the Chiefs had Frank Clark, and while that Super Bowl was amazing to see, the post-game celebration wasn't the same without him yelling into a microphone, and cussing about how bad the other team is. That's just the Clark we remember and love getting to watch and cover.
But, everything must eventually come to an end, and with Clark, his best playing days were behind him at the time. And, well, he and the Chiefs couldn't come to an agreement money-wise, and, both sides somewhat agreed to move on from one another.
I'm sure though, that when the Denver Broncos signed Clark, it felt weird for both sides, too. Now, Clark is a free agent again, and after a recent post of him working out hit Instagram, it's clear that some people still want him back in Kansas City, where he could have a chance to win yet another ring.
Chris Jones, the Chiefs star defensive player, has made it clear in the past that he wants Clark back on the team . But, he doesn't hold the same kind of power that, let's say, a guy like Patrick Mahomes has. If he did, Clark would already be on the team. But, here is Jones once again asking for Clark to be signed by the Chiefs.
The Chiefs have one available roster spot available before they head to training camp in a few weeks, so, they can sign him. However, the Chiefs only have about $13 million in cap space, according to Spotrac. If Clark is fine with a smaller deal, then that's great. But, we're not quite sure how much Clark would be willing to take.
The Chiefs may want to use that last roster spot elsewhere, though. Or, they may not add anyone at all until right before camp. We just don't know, and Brett Veach can be somewhat unpredictable in that way. But, man, it would be cool to see Clark back on the team.
