Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce is not only a three-time Super Bowl champion, but according to a recent survey by The Action Network, he’s now officially considered one of the most annoying players in the NFL.
The survey, aimed at determining which players and teams fans find the most irritating, saw New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers take the top spot as the league’s most annoying player.
Rodgers, known for his outspoken and often polarizing comments on “The Pat McAfee Show,” captured 27 percent of the votes.
Kelce wasn’t far behind, though.
The Chiefs’ All-Pro tight end came in second place, earning 17 percent of the votes. A few years ago, Kelce wouldn’t have been anywhere near such a list, but his skyrocketing media presence and personal life seem to have altered the way fans perceive him.
Kelce’s romance with pop sensation Taylor Swift, which has been a hot topic over the past 12 months, has only amplified his public visibility. Swift is frequently spotted in the stands during Chiefs games, and her appearances on television during broadcasts have not gone unnoticed.
While fans have certainly factored Kelce’s high-profile relationship into their votes, that’s not the only reason he’s become a polarizing figure.
The reality is, Travis Kelce has become almost omnipresent. Whether it’s commercials, TV shows, or viral moments, his face seems to be everywhere. Some fans have expressed “Kelce fatigue,” likely attributing his widespread media exposure to their irritation.
Despite the buzz, Kelce hasn’t yet commented on his placement as the NFL’s second-most annoying player. However, with his platform on the “New Heights” podcast, hosted alongside his brother Jason Kelce, it’s possible he may address the survey on an upcoming episode.
For now, Kelce remains focused on helping the Kansas City Chiefs continue their push through the 2024 season. Heading into Week 3 against the Atlanta Falcons, the star tight end is looking to pick up his production. So far, he has just four receptions for 39 yards across the first two games of the season.
It remains to be seen how much Travis Kelce’s off-field attention will continue to shape fan perception, but his on-field contributions are undeniable.
