Kansas City Chiefs fans are happy their team is 5-0 but they can't be thrilled with all the injuries they've had to deal with.

The Chiefs entered the year with a talented trio of playmakers but have seen Marquise Brown and Rashee Rice go down with season-ending injuries. They've had to rely on rookie Xavier Worthy and JuJu Smith-Schuster, who became an afterthought after underwhelming with the New England Patriots.

Even though Smith-Schuster reeled in seven passes for 130 yards and one touchdown in Week 5, the Chiefs will still likely be assertive in adding a playmaker via trade. And one former Chief has been linked to Kansas City for a potential reunion.

Chiefs News: Kansas City May Look to Bring Back Former WR

Logan Ulrich of NFLTraderumors.com is discussing potential trade targets around the league and named Rams WR Demarcus Robinson as an option for the Chiefs.

"The Rams have had to lean on their depth at receiver due to injuries to Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua. But with both players expected to come back at some point this season, that could offer an opportunity to trade and shore up another area of weakness. Atwell is in the final year of his rookie contract while Robinson is an interesting name to keep in mind for a team like the Chiefs."

If Robinson is indeed available, he's someone the Chiefs should look at bringing back. It won't cost more than a Day 3 draft pick to bring him in and he only carries a $4 million cap hit for 2024.

He came into the league as a fourth-round pick by the Chiefs during the 2016 NFL Draft. The Florida product is a solid route runner who knows where the soft spots are in coverage. He also has played with Patrick Mahomes before and won Super Bowl LIV with Kansas City.

In his career, the 30-year-old has 231 receptions for 2,697 yards and 21 touchdowns. He's not a WR1 or a WR2 frankly but he could provide them with a quality WR3. The Chiefs are one injury away from having Skyy Moore play meaningful snaps.

That's something they can't afford and makes Robinson that much more valuable.
