Bachelor Nation fans first met Katie Thurston on Season 25 of “The Bachelor” and she returned to our screens for Season 17 of “The Bachelorette.”
Katie has been keeping fans updated with her life on social media and revealed earlier this year that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
She has been keeping followers updated about her diagnosis online and sharing her treatment journey.
Now, Katie has taken to Instagram to give a new update and revealed the unfortunate news that her breast cancer has spread to her liver and is now at stage 4.

In a new video online, she said, “It’s been 43 days since I was first diagnosed with breast cancer, yet I have not started treatment. Why is that?”
Katie then shared that in addition to her first round of tests, she had to do a liver biopsy because a PET scan detected some spots on her liver that looked suspicious and they needed to determine if her cancer had spread.
“After days of waiting, unfortunately I did find out today that my breast cancer has spread to the liver,” she revealed. “It is fairly small, however, that does put me at stage four. So as of now, my new treatment plan is going to start next Friday. It does involve chemo.”
Katie admitted that even though it sounds scary, she feels optimistic about the outcome of her new plan.

She expressed, “I know stage four can sound very scary, and it can be. However, given that I am triple positive and the spots on my liver are fairly small and detected early, I feel very optimistic on my outcome. I am very confident in the team at Columbia [in New York City].”
Katie’s husband Jeff Arcuri commented on her post and said, “You’re the strongest woman I know. We got this.”
Numerous fellow Bachelor Nation stars also filled her comment section with words of encouragement and prayers for her during this time.
We’re continuing to send our love to Katie and her family as they navigate this next chapter, and we’re wishing her all the best as she starts her new treatments. You’ve got this, Katie!!
