We all know Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce to be one of the best at his position of all-time, along with being a superb athlete for over a decade at the highest level.
But as it turns out, Travis wasn't always like that.
In the most recent episode of the New Heights podcast, Travis and his brother Jason had actor Ben Stiller on the show and they started reminiscing about one of Stiller's first movies called "Heavyweights,'' which is based on overweight (or heavyweight) kids going to a boot camp to get healthy.
To which Travis jumped in with a little trip down memory lane.
"I was a heavyweight growing up," Kelce said. "Jason, he didn't get fat until (football adulthood). We switched places growing up. So Jason is more newly founded into it."
So there you have it, and now Kelce, who is going around for a remarkable 13th NFL season, is in peak physical condition and has been for over a decade with the Chiefs.
There was a thought that Kelce, having accomplished everything there is to in the football world, might have hung up the cleats after the Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, but the future Hall of Famer couldn't fight the tide that was pushing him back to the NFL.
Now, he, along with his teammates, will be looking to bounce back with a vengeance in 2025 to put that sour taste of the Super Bowl loss behind them.
And maybe they use Stiller's drill sergeant character as motivation for getting into shape this offseason.
