Kellen Moore Wants Traditionalism from Jalen Hurts in 2024

Jalen Hurts has made a name for himself at the NFL level for his ability as a dual-threat quarterback.

Packers Super Bowl champ concerned for Jalen Hurts over Kellen Moore's coaching - "When he leaves, quarterbacks get better"

His arm and leg combination has gotten the Philadelphia Egales to the Super Bowl after all in one of the most impressive performances in league history.

Still, most NFL coaches and analysts believe the only way to actually win the big game is through the air with a pocket passer. That's exactly what new Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is looking to turn Hurts into.

"There's a time and place to scramble, but when you stick through a progression, there's big plays on the backside," Moore said to Yahoo Sports.

Moore's new offense in Philadelphia has been accepted and adopted by Hurts with enthusiasm.

The Eagles offense went into a lull late in the year in 2023 and that's why Moore was brought in the first place. To fulfill his offensive dream, though, Hurts will need to show he can be a traditional passer, more than his running self.

To this point, though, Philadelphia's $50 million quarterback appears to be just that.

Hurts and Moore's relationship seems more than fine to start the season and while adjustments will be made on the fly, the Eagles seem more than ready to kick off the new year with a more traditional Hurts.
